I'm going on vacation!
Yeah!!! I finally have a small break from school, and I am determined to leave Denver for a few days. When I moved back home almost a year and a half ago, it was to be a temporary measure. In this ill fated 16 months, I have only left the metro area twice. Once to Cheyenne, Wyo to have lunch with a German friend travelling cross country on the train, and another to Clear Creek County to the west. Eveytime I've walked past the Greyhound station, even the Mexican Bus stations who run nonstop lines from Denver to Cabo San Lucus, Mexico City, and the Baja, I've had to control my rabid wanderlust. I can't tell you have often I've been tempted to run away and find a small apartment or shack on the beach and start a new life. (Although, for the record, I would never run to Jackson's Hole- a nice place to visit, but not to live).
Hurrah!! I shall leave urban confines for the dry, dusty, Southern Colorado air. I'm going to the Penitente Canyons and then on to the Cuchara Valley. I'm going to spend a night in a monastery with its own brewery (perhaps more, depending upon the beer). Then a visit to the flat but historic wastelands of the Sandcreek Massacre. I'll try to post pictures.
I'm not leaving for another week, but, I want to revel in my upcoming sojourn. Life is lived markedly better, further from home.

Who's up for opening a shoe and bikini shop in Key West?
Ooh! Oooh Me! But, I don't want a job in retail. 'Say you and I become gigolos to the rich, famous, and geriatric.
works for me. I'll work the wives of business moguls, and you work their confused sons.
