I had planned a well thought out essay on the virtues of Magical Realism and metacognition in response to a friend that I recently lent a book to.
"Have you started reading it" I ask (about the book).
"Yeah, but I'm having a hard time buying into" he replied. "Some of the details are a little far fetched."
"Umm, I think you have to enter fiction, especially some genres, knowing you must suspend disbelief"
To which his reply was I cannot remember, but was something of a "yeah, whatever" or along those lines.
This made me ponder the whole structure of the book. (It was a "summer read" so I hadn't read much into it, but it was a good book, not Literature [yes, with a capital "L"], but a good read nonetheless), so I didn't analyze it like I would have. But now I feel the need to defend it. Alas, that will have to wait.
AHHHHH! I started a new class today. Our professor marched into the room, took off her long black leather overcoat revealing a Spartan grey suit akin to something Mao's secretary may have wore, and (with a glee in her voice) announced that she was an "APA Natzi." She then informed us a 25+ page paper would be due (late papers are strictly verboten) next Tuesday. (along with 200 pages of reading this week) With austere exuberance she reported that this was the "weeding" class of the program. I may not have a life for the next few weeks.
If you haven't already noticed, I'm dyslexic, and I'm looking for a proofreader for 25+ish sized papers. The only pay is free coffee and dessert (perhaps lunch) at the diner of your choosing, and the satisfaction that comes with knowing you have helped your fellow human. I really need good proofreading, so please, if you have some time to spare, let me know!

Was I there for your conversation about suspending belief? I seem to remember some mumbling along those lines, but I was paying more attention to my blister and walking in the rain...
Anyway, I wish you luck with your paper. I'll be out of commission for a while and as such unable to help...
Love you tons and tons...
I'd help, but I am far away. Good luck anyway, and don't forget to smile at the teacher. Trust me, it can help.
