WOO-HOO!!!!!
Holy shit! For three years i've been applying and wait listed to take workshops at a prestigious art center in Aspen. If I paid $3,000 for a week, I could go anytime I please, but I don't have big bucks, so I apply for a scholarship/student waitlist. Another summer has come and gone, and another summer I didn't get to go. Well, today I got an email letting me know that next weekend their is an opening in a three day workshop, and my number finally came up! Hurah! Odd though, I didn't think I would get picked to take a playwriting class, but three days of free room and board, plus a chance to do something that's not education! I must have done something really good lately. Pizah!
Perhaps I'll have an epiphany next weekend and begin wearing all black and beret and become the next Tennesee Williams, or perhpaps I just have an extention to a vacation. If I'm really lucky, mayby I'll even see a play produced!
Afterthought- This is such a stroke of good luck. I've waited three years to do this. Even thought I only get two nights lodgeing, and I checked, I do have to pay for food, this is such an awesome oppertunity. I just wish it was something more in my area of intrest.
Hmm, mayby I need to aplly again for that artist in residence again. Last year I applyed for, and didn't get, a postion in an artist colony. There, i would get a small stipend, room and boared, and supplies. I would live for three to four months in an old watchtower in a national forest in colorado, and just make art. Perhaps my luck has changed, mayby I should apply again. I don't know if I could stand 3-4 months of absolute solitude.

I would love to start an artist colony, but mostly to get the chance to interview young college girls who are willing to pose for money :D
